David Minces is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been since 2007. In Texas, Board Certification connotes significant experience in a particular area of law and a demonstrated competence and professionalism in that field. Board Certification is a credential that relatively few have achieved, and it is generally recognized as a measure of excellence.
Board Certified lawyers such as David are the only lawyers that our State Bar authorizes to call themselves “specialists” in a select area of law. In Texas, obtaining Board Certification in Labor and Employment Law requires the attorney to have been in practice for at least five years, with a minimum of three years’ experience representing clients in employment law cases. In addition, lawyers cannot be Board Certified until they pass a rigorous examination and obtain references from other attorneys and even judges.
These requirements may explain why less than one percent (1%) of Texas lawyers are Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law. David is among those 1%, and we encourage you to consider this before you hire a firm to represent you in an employment law matter.
